"Friendship is the marriage of the soul" -- Voltaire More than anything else, I value my friendship with DA POGI. We may have our off days and we may have those days when we are at our absolute high, but one thing is for sure, no matter what, we will always be friends. Sometimes I pity people who can't even talk to their husband, who can't even say what they feel for fear of not being taken seriously. Spouses are there not just for the good times. Di ba nga when we get married, we say "for better or for worse". If it be silliness or seriousness, anything in this world is worth sharing with the person you promised to spend your life with. When all my teeth have fallen out and my face is all wrinkled, I know that I can laugh together with my husband about my gums and my droopy eyes. Thanks for the friendship hon. Looking forward to our toothless grins. :D

My journey to the Land of "I bought something that I won't be able to use" was a short one. I am now finally wearing my bronze shoes. No redness yet. And I hope it stays that way until the end of the day.

During our birthday, DA POGI and I decided to go on a roadtrip to the Ilocos Region. Things I learned during our trip. 1. Alternate Routes does not necessarily mean the shortest way. And it may not exactly mean the best way. It just means that it is an alternate and it's up to you if you want to take it or not. On our way to La Union, we passed by an Alternate Route in Pangasinan. We completely missed Manaoag. 2. Bring lots of music with you. Some parts of northern luzon only has AM radio. And the announcers speak in Ilocano. Our Creative Zen has proven that indeed the battery life lasts 12 hours. 3. We spent our first night in Vigan, and our second night in Pagudpud. We decided to go home after Pagudpud because we have seen most of everything. :) 4. For this trip, we spent the most for lodging and gas. These two took more than half of our budget. 5. Since there are only 2 of us in the car, we had no concept of packing light. My best tip for packing is to bring what is enough for the number of days + 2 days. So example, you'll be spending 3 days away from home, pack for 5 days. If the trip is more than 2 weeks, pack for 2 weeks worth of clothes. Of course make sure that clothes mix and match. :D 6. Off Lotion is your best friend. Use liberally especially if you are going to places for the first time. Better to be safe than sorry. 7. There are not enough things to talk about on a 14 hour trip. Think of a long road trip as bonding time. My husband and I were talking throughout most of the trip. Well except for times that he was snoozing and I was driving. :D 8. 100kph on NLEX is slow. I was going at that speed early Thursday morning and I was being passed by buses and trucks. 9. Invest in a good map. We bought a map of San Fernando, Vigan, and Laoag for this trip and they have proven to be very useful in terms of mapping out destinations and tourist spots. 10. Relax and Enjoy the ride.

Tidbits. -- I will be 27 in 2 days. -- Yesterday, I finally got my wireless router to work. I can now go online, even if I am in bed, I am in the toilet, I am in the kitchen etc. :D The wireless router was an early gift from DA POGI. How romantic! -- DA POGI gave me my first ever Fino item. An alligator skin keychain. I've been buying at Fino for years, but my purchases were always gifts. -- I need therapy. I went window shopping with my husband yesterday and I was looking at bags in the upper range (think Rustan's. think D&B). -- A shoutout to John and Tere on the birth of their baby girl Sophia Julianna. Congratulations Guys! :) -- My husband and I are going on a roadtrip on our birthday. We're going up north. :)

Blogs are just blogs. Blog entries, no matter how long they are or how detailed they are, only give us a glimpse of the person behind the words. I doubt if it could make up 10% of what the writer was thinking about at the time he wrote the entry. So what's my point? Wala naman. It's just that, wag tayong mag-assume. Remember when we assume, we make an ass out of U and Me.

I think I have done it. I have crossed over to the Land of "I bought something that I won't be able to use". When DA POGI was on travel, I was doing some serious damage to my savings account. I was indulging in retail therapy, and I have a shelf full of new stuff to prove it. So one of my recent purchases were bronze flat shoes that I bought half off at Janylin's. They were comfy and nice to look at and I know that they would be great with jeans or slacks on a regular day. Well, I was wrong! Looks like I won't be able to wear those shoes. When I tried them on for the first time yesterday (and believe me, I was wearing cute stuff that would go with my bronze shoes), they seem a little tight! See, to me, I have above average feet, free of calluses and dry spots that I don't want to risk getting a sore spot just because I was wearing tight shoes. Now, I'm thinking if I should give the shoes to my sister, or just give it another try. To wear it when I know I wouldn't do much walking but rather just showing off my new shoes. NOT. But I need to wear those shoes, even just once. This is just so I wouldn't get an "I told you so" look from my mom.

DA POGI arrived last Thursday, and is leaving today. I know he'll be back this Friday, but there's a slight feeling of sadness when I said goodbye this morning. The hugs were tight and if I had a choice, I would just lie in bed with him hugging him, until he has to leave. All this melodrama for just a week's trip. Haay!
