The world is shrinking as I speak. R, the badminton guy, frequently visits Din's site. Seems he found out about it from Smash-PH. Anyways, we were talking about the game last night during lunch when suddenly I mentioned that Din was a member of Smash-PH (feeling close). So he said that he goes to Din's site and he finds it super refreshing (don't know if that's the right word he used). To make a long story short, I happen to mention that I am the jen that posts in her tagboard. He put two and two together and he'll probably bump into my blog one of these days. So don't blame me if I suddenly move. Heh. :)

I posted an image earlier but I am now having problems seeing it. I need a new host for my pics. Anyone know of a good one?

In fairness, R did hug me after the game to apologize. It wasn't his fault. It was just a game. I was the weaker player that was why I was targetted. Anyways, our coach is planning on having practice sessions. Last game is on Thursday next week. It's a do or die game. I hope we do well. Our team really needs the points to catch up with the first place team. Gosh! Badminton is really bringing out my, already, competitive streak. ------------------- On a good note, DA POGI and I had dinner at Chili's right after the game. I've always enjoyed eating at Chili's since the crew there is very service oriented. Unlike other restaurant chains I know. My two favorite places to eat, Chili's and CPK. Just because their crew is so friendly. Anyways, I also bought a couple of VCDs for my dad. We don't have cable at our current apartment. He is going bonkers from watching all the local TV. They only have a VCD player in their room. Original VCDs are now so cheap that I don't know why people still bother to pirate them. DVDs I understand. It's just not practical to buy original DVDs for 2 days worth of salary if you could buy a DVD with almost the same quality as the orig for less than $2. But maybe I'm just justifying my deeds. :) I bought a couple of DVDs last weekend and I've only watched one. I haven't even finished watching the John Mayer concert. By the way, does anybody know where I can buy orig VCDs of Aga and Regine's movies?

Ang pikon pikon ko talaga. I actually cried during the game. Our opponent was shooting the shuttlecock to my body and I was hit several times. Let's just say that it hit me the wrong way. We lost. I cried. End of story.

Yipee! My leave has finally been approved. I'll be going to Subic next weekend. :) Hay! I was hoping that it would be approved. Had the odds against me. Next week was supposed to be moving week here in the office and I am part of the team that coordinates the whole move. So, I thought that I wouldn't be able to go to Subic. But then, the move was scheduled a week later so May 9th was freed up for me. :) My manager took his time approving my leave. Had me on the edge of my seat for a week already. -------------------- An MSN conversation with someone: JB> bibili pala ako ng haus ... me> o e di maigi. madami ka namang pera e. JB> aling haus? JB> ndi batang isip, bata pa as in young me> hindi no. 24 na ako e. JB> basta wag muna. Older brother paeffect. :)

I didn't know that there was an actual sport called frisbee. I thought that frisbees were just thrown around and dogs catch them and bring them back to their master. Well, I was misinformed. There is such a thing as frisbee. With rules similar to touch football. The object of the game is to get a frisbee from one end of the field to the other without being taken by the opponent. Also, the frisbee must be caught when thrown. Once you catch a frisbee you have 10 counts to release it, otherwise it will be a turnover. If a frisbee is dropped, it's also a turnover. Watching it was pretty boring actually. Especially since the game I saw was on beginner's night. But man, the sweat that you generate from running around trying to catch that thing is enough to make you lose several pounds in a week! Maybe after badminton season, I could catch some frisbee action.

I'm really annoyed. I know that I am pikon, and people know it too. They don't need to rub it in. I especially don't want my friends to rub it in. If I consider you my friend you should know that it majorly pisses me off when you talk about my weaknesses with somebody else. I'm just not pleased at all.

What does it really man to have things going great? The first half of the day has already passed and I have nothing to show for it. Once I start doing something, someone goes to my cubicle to ask for assistance on something. It's taking up my time and my concentration and I really can't do anything about it. It wouldn't be fair if I turn them away, just because I happen to be doing something. They are the priority after all. I miss the weekend. Things were going great this weekend. DA POGI and I were talking about the important stuff. Like what we love about each other and what we really hate. And we talked about what we would do on our vacation with friends. There were times during our talk that I felt like I was a princess and at times, I felt like his bestest bud. All was well because we laughed about the things that we did before. Tomorrow we'll be starting the celebration for a series of anniversaries before the big one on the 13th. Hay! back to work na naman...

I'm going to a despedida party later. It's pot luck. These items are already taken: buko pandan, cake, BBQ, pancit, and alcoholic beverage. What goes well with these? I need ideas else, I'm going there and I'll just bring DA POGI as entertainment. :)

Folks here at the office get all giddy at the sight of a camera. What can I say? We're typical Pinoys. Point a camera at us and we'll go berserk showing our best smiles. Such is the case this lunch period. M brought her new camera to the office to show off. Of course, being a poseur, BB always had a steady smile and would ask me constantly to take a picture of him with the new cam. Such is also the case with any other person who saw us (M and myself) with the camera at hand. They would ask us to take pictures of them. Pictures always turn out funny because people never seem to take digital cameras seriously. Smiles are often crooked and weird faces abundant. Just because we know that we could always delete anything that didn't look too well. :) My favorite subject these days, I, is only 1 1/2 years old and he already knows what's the advantage of a digicam. Everytime I take a picture of him with the digicam, he would smile his best and after the shot would go next to me and ask me to show him his picture already. Instant gratification for the kid. Whenever a picture of him is taken with a film based camera, he would ask to see the back of it just so he could see if his picture was already there. Instant gratification.

What a sad sad day. We lost the 3rd place at the women's doubles to a team that we beat the last time. It's ok I guess. But I feel bad for my team since the win will cement our place in the team standings. It's partly my fault. I can barely run because my ankle is bothering me. Added to the fact that I might have been too cocky. O well. I've asked that my game this Friday be postponed to next week. I can't walk without feeling the pain. Maybe there is such a thing as overextending yourself. A basta. Next tourney, pupulbuhin namin sila.

Reading about falling out of a relationship (not love) from two different blogs just had me thinking. Was Rosa right? Is anything other than mad passionate love a complete waste of time? I'm now thinking about the things that DA POGI and I have talked about and have planned for the future. There came a time when I was not as passionate as he was. But I tried. As in tried my best to keep the fire going. Maybe it's because we have come to terms on what we want in our lives as long as we're together. Maybe it's because knowing that we love each other simply wasn't enough. Maybe it's because of the promises that we intend to keep. All I know is, I am willing to work on this. Man, I sure am one lucky person. :)

DA GANDA blogged @ 4/21/2003 03:27:00 AM

DA POGI only calls me jen when he's angry at me or when he is referring to me when talking to somebody. He has always had a nickname for me. He calls me his honey. Sometimes his baby. Last Saturday, out of the blue, he called me sweetheart. He sometimes calls me mahal. And now he gave me a new nickname, he calls me Kitten. The Kitten nickname came about when he chanced upon Alex Galmedo's comic book entitled Doug and Kitten. It's about a couple in their early 20's who is in a relationship that is almost similar to ours. Doug and Kitten have been together for 4 years and treat each other sometimes as buddies the way we do. According to DA POGI, Kitten and I have some things in common. Like my ability to make him agree (well most of the time) to do things he really does not want to do. Also, I eat more than he does sometimes, in the same way Kitten has more gusto when eating. Kitten also has a tendency to be an impulsive buyer (as with most females). DA POGI on the other hand has lots of similarities with Doug. Physically, they both wear glasses and both have love handles. DA POGI has a tendency to baby me at times the way that Doug does Kitten. Plus they have a tendency to be Ander (according to DA POGI). Too bad the comic strip is not published in dailies anymore. The book is available at National Bookstore and is published by the same people who publishes Beerkada.

Whoever said that I'll be getting some rest this Holy Week vacation was dead wrong. We moved from our old house to a new apartment last Thursday. The new apartment was about 50 steps away from the old house. The house has been standing for some 40 odd years and needed, well begged for, a renovation. The termites have eaten away one column of the house thus the much needed renovation. It only took us 2 hours to vacant the house, but 2 days to really be moved out. The new apartment has no cable and no telephone. Hay! Back to the boondocks for us. It was my brother's birthday last Saturday and his friends went to the new apartment for lunch. I met his girlfriend for the first time. Grabe! We all thought that my brother has the best nose in the family. Lahat kami nagmukhang sarat ang ilong compared to his gf. They look good together. My brother is 6'2" and his gf is 5'8". So lahat kami tingala sa kanila. So yesterday, DA POGI and I had lunch at his Tito's place. We won Php 500 (between the two of us) in Bingo. So sagot na ni Tito ang sine at chichirya. :) More later...

Talaga nga naman. Some people think that what they are asking from you is the most important thing, when in fact there are other much more important things out there that I need to keep track off. Its not incompetency, it's just not having enough time to get to it. It just gets deprioritized, but it's still there. I hate it. They didn't give Johnny B a hard time before and now, I am taking all the heat for us being backlogged. I just hate it. I have no idea now what needs to be done to just catch up with it. :(

Anuba! Somebody stop me! I'm in a thinking-about-a-new-PDA funk. I'm thinking about ways to further deplete my wallet. Been researching thinking about whether to get a Sony Clie SJ33 (which my cousin recommends) or a lower SJ22. Any which way, reviews are still much better than Palms with the same price. It's gotten so bad that I even called up my Bespren just to ask her opinion on the matter. Of course, I was given the typical, Ikaw bahala ka. My cousin, who is the certified techie of the clan, owned a digital camera, long before it was cool to have one, also owned a Palm Pilot, starting from a IIIe to her now 505 (which she plans to replace again), and a laptop, which is hers personally, added to the desktop she has at home. So, I trust her judgement when it comes to the newest toys. I told her about my plans on buying a Palm Zire and she scoffed at me, telling me it was no good. I knew the same thing but still wanted to buy one cause it was cheap. I'm turning into my lola.* Now I want to get a Clie. Sige, if I'm good enough this May, I'll ask Pauee if I could have my Clie (naks!) delivered at his apartment. The question is, where do I base good behavior? How will I know that my behavior is good enough to merit a new toy? Suggestions naman dyan. Added to that, I have this crush on the new Nike Shox NZ. My sneakers need replacing. The right toe of my trusty prestos are only protected by a very thin layer of cloth. It used to be foam and cloth, now its just cloth. Anuba! Para talagang ang dami kong pera. Di bale, libre naman ang mangarap e. *Note: my lola buys stuff even if she has no need for it simply because it's cheap.

When someone just closes down a blog, you just know that something has happened that they simply doesn't want anyone to read whatever it is that they are thinking. It could be a couple of reasons. Someone who they don't want to read the blog has actually started reading it. Or someone developed a liking to their writing and did a Kathy Bates in Misery. Or they just simply got tired of writing. Of the three I mentioned, I have yet to actually see someone who got tired of writing and decided not to blog. Most of the time people just stopped updating the blogs and moved to another URL. Just so they could lose the people they don't want reading their blogs. So with the new anonimity that they have, they now have the freedom to express themselves. Even if you are an avid reader of the blog, you can't really ask them the reason why they stopped blogging or why they moved their blog. It's their right to do whatever they wish. It's their thoughts anyway. And it may actually be weird to ask them for the new URL. They moved the blog to another area because they want to. My philosophy is, if they wish you to read their new blog, they would just have given the URL to you. You have nothing else to do but wish them luck and cross off another blog that you read daily. Anyways, what's my point? I don't know. I'm just blabbing. Another blog has closed and I will surely miss reading it. I never said anything before when my other favorites have closed down. I guess I'm just feeling a general sadness. I hope I bump into your blog some other day. So, to you, Good Luck. :)

Anak ng tokwang KC Concepcion yan! Pinuyat ako! :) Slept at 12 midnight. I watched KC Conception's debut on TV. My sister and I were saying that KC's debut was more "sosyal" than Heart Evangelista's debut. Naging jologs ang concept ng debut ni Heart. Still no summer vacation plans. I mighta end up not going to the beach or near a pool again, this summer. Eme's wedding is in June. I don't want to have bathing suit marks on my shoulders.

A couple of months back, I was talking about the stuff that I want to have. Since that time, I was able to acquire a discman and a digital camera. It wasn't what I initially wanted (I wanted a lower end one), but my new baby fully satisfies my every whim. Now I still have something to cross off my list. I decided not to get a new phone. My phone is still ok. Well, better than the phones of other people that I know. But I did decide that I want to still get a new PDA. I'm still not fully convinced that this is what I need but it's what I want to have. Problem is I can't really decide what my use for it will be. I only need something as an organizer. The calendar I keep in my bag is battered already. I hate writing on paper because I still lose it. So kinda defeats the purpose of reminding myself. So, maybe something super low end can fit my needs, like a Palm Zire. My sister has been urging me to buy a Palm Zire. Not for myself but for her. See, she doesn't really need to have a high end model since she'll be using it to keep track of her schedules (her work involves shifting). I wanted to buy her one on her last birthday but that was also the time that I had to shell out money for tuition fee. So malas niya. Maybe, I could buy the Palm Zire and if I really have no use for it, I'll hand it to her. Grabe! Kung magsalita ako, parang ang dami kong pera.

Went out for lunch. Actually inambush libre ko yung mga tao. About a 2 to 3 months ago, I told them that I would treat them if it was announced that I would be a functional team lead. Last March, while I was in Malaysia, the manager announced to the team that I am now officially part of the staff. I would be lying if I said that I didn't look forward to this. I was happy about it. Inintay ko lang na lumuwag yung expenses ko bago ko sila nilibre. Lunchtime, I didn't tell anyone about my plan to pay for lunch. So I had them order whatever it is that they normally eat. Then, when the bill came, I just pulled out my card and told them that lunch was on me. Syempre nagulat sila. One of them actually was relieved that his FTL urged him to go. Kundi di sya nakatikim ng Max's. So ganun lang talaga ako manlibre. If I plan to treat someone, I wouldn't tell them outright that I'll be paying for it. Para walang napipilitan di ba? Tactic ko daw yung para makatipid. True. ;)

DA GANDA blogged @ 4/08/2003 06:03:00 PM

I've often wondered how many people read my blog. At least on a weekly basis. I know someone in the office who does. And its funny sometimes when she calls me up just to ask how I am, just because she read something in my blog. Interesting. I know PE reads my blog. He often comments about things. I like it when he questions (?) what I wrote. At least I know what I wrote would be something worth talking about. I know Pen reads my blog. I've been updated with the latest chika because of her. I learned that Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley are separated. And from her blog I've learned that Hugh Grant was looking for a wife. I know Ron reads my blog. He leaves messages in the tagboard. Just to say "hiya!". I know that mak reads my blog. Read the comments part, she reminded me that she reads my blog everyday. Thanks for the reminder. And I have countless passerby's who leave a comment or sometimes a tag. Thanks for making me know that you read me. :) So I have someone from Manila, Chicago, Florida, San Francisco and Saudi Arabia who reads my blog. O di ba! My blog is for international consumption! :) So for those of you who read my blog. Leave me a note. Just so I know that you passed by. :) *By the way, Robyn posted the whereabouts of people who comment on her blog. It was quite interesting.

The person who used to have my office phone line is in deep trouble. I've had phone calls asking for him and asking if he is still affiliated with the company. Most of them credit card collectors disguising themselves as someone else. Case in point: me: Hello, Good morning! caller: Hello is Mr _________ around? me: I'm sorry but you have the wrong number. caller: This is the Canadian embassy. I am looking for Mr _________. me: I'm sorry but I don't know a Mr ________. caller: This is the number that he indicated in application. Who is this? *getting annoyed* me: Ma'am, I'm sorry but I don't know a Mr. _______. If he had indeed worked for the company, I have no information if he is still affiliated with us. caller: Who is this? I need to get your name. *mataray mode* me: Ma'am, I don't think you need my name. I don't know a Mr. _________ and I think you are crossing over the line of politeness. Thank you for calling. She thinks I don't remember her. She called around 8AM this morning, looking for the same person. She told me that she is from Standard Charter and now she's from the Canadian Embassy? The same tone of voice the same intonations when speaking. Super coincidental if she is not the same caller. I wonder what he did. Why they are calling him. A couple of months back I had to fend off several calls from Citibank.

Managed to catch 2 movies last weekend. The Recruit with Fafa Colin and The Core with Pareng Hilary Swank. Both movies were good but I liked The Recruit better. Number 1 reason is Colin is more Fafable than that guy in The Core, The Core does not have Pacino, The Recruit is more believable, and of course, Bridget Moynahan. If I could have a face that I want for the day, I want Bridget Moynahan's. One day lang. Else, I'll grow tired of it and want another face. Studied the whole weekend for the exam tomorrow. Sheesh! I am nervous about it. It seems that no matter what I do, it still won't be enough. If the finals last Thursday was easy, I don't know what tomorrow's exam would be like. On a badminton note, we are still unbeaten in the mixed doubles. We'll have our last game today, before the finals, against another team which is still unbeaten.

My cube, though neat as it is, will not be as liveable if I clean up. I don't want to take down my pictures or pack up my itsy bitsy things. It's still more than 2 weeks away. But in all honesty, I am not looking forward to it. Nothing will change. I'll still have my job with a different job location. My commute time will be twice as long. I'm even contemplating on pushing back on my schooling until such time that I get used to the commute. In short, I don't want to move yet.

Ate out for lunch. We were all excited to take a ride in M's car. Este, new car pala. Her dad, who's a doctor, got the car for her and her sisters. Lucky kid. So, S, R and myself rode with M, to eat at Pancake house. I was designated to seat at the passenger seat while S and R were happily chatting at the back. No this story does not end badly. :) On our way to the car, M was saying that no one is allowed to shriek, or laugh, or make fun of her while she was driving. She has been driving for less than a month. Of course none of what she said was followed. She shrieked... we laughed... and of course we made fun of her. We gave her tips (as if expert drivers) on how to better park the car. The car was so spanking new that it still smelled new. Sa sobrang bago, ako ang kinakabahan na baka magasgasan ang kotse. Para kaming mga pinakawalan as koral.

So, the badminton tourney was successful yesterday. My team didn't win the best cheering or the best uniform or the best muse. It's ok. The event was fun even if we didn't win any of the initial prizes. And also, we lost the women's doubles (I'm part of that game) but won the mixed doubles (ako yun isa uli) and the men's singles. Next friday, games would be mixed doubles and men's doubles and women's singles. I hope we win. I was so tired last night that I wasn't able to really study for the finals tomorrow.
