Am my usual masungit self today. Didn't get blissful sleep. My eyes are still bothering me.
Today is the start of the badminton tournament. Our team doesn't have a cheer yet. Good thing though, we were blessed with the easiest uniform. White. How can we go wrong with white?
People are excited over this. The boss joined the tourney. Also, Commisioner G was able to solicit some money and some give aways from the upper bosses and Sales and Marketing. O di ba? At least the event was sponsored.
I'll be also officiating in one game. Katakot daw kasi mataray ako today. Sus! What's new di ba?
Got this link from Rosa. Sus! hagalpak talaga ako sa tawa. Especially her commentary on Ruffa's project.

I think my eyes need some rest.
It's been throbbing since this morning and I feel that my eyes are burning since this afternoon.
The fact that people are just not too considerate today makes matters worse.
Sheesh! Where did the weekend go?

Hay! Thank goodness its Friday.
I had a very bad week this week. Not at all productive. I'm blaming it on my ability to procastrinate. The deadlines are just too far away.
Anyways, I have finals next week so this weekend might be busy. The report that we need to submit for class is not yet done. But its getting there.
If not for my calendar being booked all days of the week next week, I would've taken a day off.

Wasn't able to blog the whole day. I've been sort of busy. Sort of lang.
Anyways, They launched the Badminton Tournament. I'm on the white team. There was a draft ala PBA and the designated team captains get their turns to choose which people they want on their team. So people won't begrudge other people, they did it in private and posted the name alphabetically. So that it won't be obvious as to which round you were chosen.
I have a splitting headache from talking to my boss and another manager about the move. Each person has an idea on how things should be done that it's giving me a headache. I am now a treasurer of a lot of money. I would be approving all the purchase requests to be cut for the move.
If I really was bad, I wouldn't be here in my office, I'd be on my way to Phuket. :)

In my school life, I've known only 3 Jennifer's, excluding myself. Two were in my high school batch but I've only had the pleasure of having one of them as my classmate. It just so happened that her name was Jennifer Real and thus, I was stuck with being Jennifer Fake. My friend, A, nicknamed me Gjen. Just to have a differentiator between Jennifer Real and Jennifer Fake.
When I started going around the instant messenger scene (ICQ, YM, etc), I met a person who actually has the same name as I do. This is quite a coincidence since my surname is not that common. The only difference is that her middle initial is W and mine is V. Other than that we share the same name and even the same nickname.
More often than not, I use Gjen. But when I started working, I also started to get tired of explaining to people why I have that nickname. I dropped the G and used Jen for all my correspondence with my colleagues. I still know some people from college who call me Gjen from time to time.
I have become used to the fact that my name is as common as it can be. But at least it means "fair beauty". ;)

Jealousy is an evil green monster. Evil, evil, evil.
In the almost 6 years that DA POGI and I have been together, I have been bitten by this monster twice. No, not actually just twice, but two people have managed to evoke such emotions in me that I want for them to just vanish from the face of this earth, just so I wouldn't feel this way. One person, I have not actually had the pleasure (or is it pain?) to meet. The other one, I have had the acquaintance and will be seeing from time to time.
Jealousy is evil because it would always create negative emotions. It makes me feel insecure and would often times have me acting in a not so normal way.
By the way, I'm done with being jealous for now. It's like a cold, only proportional: one day to go, one day to stay, one day to go away.

I was measured yesterday for the bridesmaid dress. The dress will be wine red, strapless with a poncho over it. Sharon Cuneta ang dating. :)
The bride had her second fitting for her wedding gown. Even without the bead work yet, the gown was beautiful. Plus, it fitted perfectly. Can't wait to see the gown on her wedding day. Took some pictures (not of the gown) of the bride with her designer and her florists. They were discussing what bouquet would go well with the dresses. The groom was joking that with the colors (the bride's mother would be blue, the groom's mother yellow, the entourage red, and the bride white) reminded him of the national flag. Katawa, all the while they were discussing the flowers, the groom told me that he was happy he was a man and that he had the bride to take care of that girly stuff. Syempre natawa ako. Personally, I didn't relate to what they were talking about. They were all the same color to me! :)
On local news, the top cadet of PMA class 2003 is a woman. Way to go! :)

Saddam Hussein has not yet left Iraq. So, I guess the war is still on.
I don't get it. The UN is trying to solve everything diplomatically, but the US just can't wait to bomb Iraq. According to my american colleague, it just has gone long enough that they need to force Saddam out. In my humble opinion, why would they want to talk about it if only to go the other way? Kinda defeats the UN's purpose.
They're sending out memos for in case the war breaks out. I have heard of an engineer in my division that was called to military duty. He has filed an indefinite leave of absence for this.
GMA is supporting the US on their decision against Iraq. Can't blame her. I would rather have a president that took a stand than a president who's a plunderer. But if I had a choice, it would be no war at all. Funny, during the last Gulf war, I went on with my life as if it doesn't affect me. And now, I am actually worried.
I must be getting old.

Funny thing. Some people just don't want to be cooperative.
US time will be going back to 1 hour earlier. So 3PM PST would now be 6AM Manila time. Meetings usually happen at 7AM Manila time. Discussions about this in the meetings are sometimes funny. No one wants to stay late and no one wants to go in early. The team is dominated by Asians (mostly Chinese) and as usual, I am having a difficult time understanding what they are saying because of their accent. Which is bad, since I have to ask them to repeat their question quite often.
Anyways, It's kinda hard to get people to really attend the meeting because the different sites have different environments with different toolsets. So there really is no common factor to really get a good discussion going. Convergence must be done first. But, to me, that's too far off!
I have no idea what to do this weekend. Both DA POGI and I are lacking funds to go out. My DVD stash is now depleted (I've watched all of them!). Hay! Payday is still a week away.
Buti na lang, I have my camera to fiddle with.
Promise. This will be the last week I'll show my excitement over my camera. :)
--------------------
Another one plus one gets accepted. :) I have got to stop fiddling with my pictures and my camera. :)

Saw my credit card bill and I almost dropped off my chair. That's what I get for splurging too much in Changi Airport. Sabi na kasing wag akong papakawalan sa duty free e.
Aside from that, my bank account will be almost empty when I pay up on the camera. So that still leaves my credit card bill. I just tell myself: Ok lang yun nag-enjoy ka naman magshopping e. One of the pitfalls of being a woman!
Didn't even notice the time fly by. Two weeks from now is already finals week. I missed the exam last week on account of my Malaysia trip. The teacher is not including the grade of that exam to the final grade. I have yet to take an exam this term. I just hope that all will be well. No more failures. I have also yet to complete my incomplete from last term. Naku!
What will I do this summer kaya?

I wish it was the weekend already. I want to go somewhere nice to take pictures of something. Just shows how excited I get when I think about my camera.
I have already posted some pictures I took on the web. I even submitted an entry to the mirror project. I hope it gets accepted. Para naman in na din ako. :)
In truth, I want to take a vacation. I was so tired from the Malaysia trip that I don't think my body had time to recover from that much stress (read: walking around the mall). R was even sick right after we arrived. Scary. To think that they've been sending out bulletins about diseases from Asian countries.
I just want to take a long vacation and take pictures.

Submitted the liquidation for my travel. Darned tool says that I have exceeded spending when, in fact, I am way below. If I really wanted to get money out of them, I would've just lied about the things I wrote in the expense report.
Anyways, I'll just have to contact tool owner again. I had problems when my manager approved the travel and I think this is a part of the problem.
I have a headache already. I want to go home.

I have a feeling some people would give me bad looks today. It's just 8AM on a Monday morning and I have already replied to a nasty email with another nasty email. I know its not a good way to start a day but if I don't speak up, it would just go on and on and I would be further annoyed by it.
So today, it's back to work for me. I have yet to really begin work. Meetings are lined up for the day.
My digital camera was extensively used this weekend. I was just so excited to use it. Looks like I am soon to be a hobbyist. I took pictures of really pretty flowers in Antipolo. Also took a lot of close up shots of DA POGI. No regrets now of buying the camera. I figure, if it serves me 2 years it has already paid for itself.
Oh! and I had my sister, brother and DA POGI's chinese names engraved in marble. Found this cool chinese woman in the Batu Ferringhi night market who sold stuff like that. It also helped that the chinese guy from class helped out with the bargaining. Got these stress balls for DA POGI and BB, which was also translated. I gave BB "Long-Life" and DA POGI "Happiness".
Gotta get back to work.

Ok, so this is what I bought.
It has rendered me penniless for the rest of my trip, but I am quite happy with it.
Anyways, I just know that the URL for this blog is so right for me. I asked the Chinese guy from class to translate my name to Chinese characters (zhang-ni-fu). It seems than "ni" means "of beauty". Interesting.
Can't wait to go home tomorrow. I have had enough of Indian food already. I just want to have adobo and karekare.

Been quite a while since I last updated. Been very busy.
Toured the malls near the hotel. Finally saw a digital camera that I like. Nothing much to buy here except electronics. Whoever said that Malaysia would be cheaper has obviously not been here. Food here is very expensive and not that edible. Well not for me anyways. I've been to an Indian restaurant, a Moslem restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and of course the cafeteria that serves curry. I always always eat my breakfast at the hotel so that I would have enough energy to get through the day.
The training was quite helpful in terms of getting into the detail of the tool. I've already created action plans on how to better our systems. Good thing.

Very busy day ahead of me. Today is the first day of the tool training.
I actually saw and met people whom I only hear over the telephone. There are just 2 women in the meetings that I attended and I am one of them. And the other girl, man!, if I was a guy, I would go for her. Ooops! just thinking out loud.
So this is it for today. I plan to do a day to day activity thing for this blog so that I'll remember this trip. Very important trip. First time to Malaysia.

Cha, blogged about the AMA commercial.
For those who do not know, AMA is currently showing a commercial wherein a robot tours possible students around the AMA campus to show them the mechatronics lab. The robot is so lifelike (well, in real life it is actually human ;) ), that they were surprised that the "lady" suddenly stopped from explaining about PLCs.
I know, I know it is just a commercial, but please let me say something about it.
Something is definitely wrong with that ad. For one, the robot is too human-like in movement. And it is so wrong that the "recruits" undid her blouse just to see if they can "fix" her. If I were a kid, fresh out of high school, I wouldn't be tinkering around with other people's blouses just to see if it's a robot. Also, if the facility is so high tech, why did their robot break down? And why was it that the recruits were the ones who fixed the robot? Doesn't that mean that they are very smart kids and they don't need to get a degree in robotics?
Well, one thing is for sure, they did a great job in that commercial. Even our 5 year old neighbor wants to go to AMA so that he could make robots.

I'll be reporting today in class and I honestly have no idea on how to make the stuff interesting. It just seems so boring that my classmates would probably doze off on me just to be able to do something. Plus simulation exam (whatever that means) for this class is next week.
I'm learning of new things already. I now know that I can control jealousy and be happy for a person. At least to me that seems to be a part of me growing up. I've also learned that though I may be saying something false, it may not necessarily mean that I am not right.

Passport... check
Ticket... check
Travellers Checks... check
International Roaming... check
Important Phone numbers... double check
Now all I have to do is pack my things. Which should be easy since this is just a week long business trip. According to my boss the hotel I am staying at is on a hilltop. This makes it interesting. One, I've never stayed in a hotel room before. Two, a hilltop view? Who can top that?
Tomorrow is going to be an easy day relatively. Half of it will be spent mostly with the big guys. They'll be treating the whole team for a game of Gotcha in the afternoon. Better this than having the US bring down Iraq right? :D

Presented the Operations review for my team this morning. Smiled when the big guy said that we are actually an example of something that is working well. Actually, he is referring to the relationship we have with our counterparts in the US. But still its a compliment that I wouldn't mind hearing.
Was talking to Johnny B over email/messenger. Weird guy sent me snail mail with meal stubs in it. No letter, just meal stubs. He was asking if I had lost weight already. I told him no, even though I know I am. His idea of the ideal weight for my height is 107 lbs. And that would make me as thin as a reed. I've been getting flak from him, even before he left, to lose weight. I only started to do it after he left. Sure, I want to lose weight. I just don't want him to think that I am losing it because he told me so. He has a way of twisting things, and next thing you know, he's saying that I like him, in a romantic way that is.
Ok, going back to the work grind.

I ordered fish and mixed veggies for lunch. No rice. I wasn't able to finish the meal. :(
