I texted Vet1 from the previous entry to thank her for all the help she gave us. I also told her that Bambam did not make it. She reminded me of all the things that we need to do to make our house ready for a new puppy. She recommended that we disinfect all parts where Bambam stayed (That's done) and that we can get a new puppy after 1 month (Though the vet who provided us with Doxyvet said to wait until 3 months). She also told us to throw out all of Bambam's vitamins since we can't really use it anymore because it might be carrying the virus. What I love about Vet1 is that she sent me a note through my teammate about the things that I need to consider when getting a new pet puppy. THINGS TO CONSIDER (WHEN GETTING A NEW PET PUPPY) - Puppy must be ~3 mos of age. - Dewormed with an "all-wormer" starting at 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks of age. - Hat at least 2 shots of "5 in 1" (Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Leptospirosis, Canine Infectious Hepatitis, and Influenza) at 6 weeks of age and 8 weeks of age. - No hernia, dewclaw or other anatomical abnormalities - No ticks, fleas, dandruff, scales and flakes; no alopecia or falling hair. - Make sure vaccination record is properly filled up and each vaccine has the vet's signature and license number. She also recommended that next time we get a dog, we get a poodle or a boston terrier or a pomeranian. I've definitely converted to be a dog-lover.

Bambam died earlier this morning. Ganito pala ang feeling. Di naman sa pag-oOA pero ang sakit. Yesterday we were at the vet because I was worried about her not eating. The vet misdiagnosed her as having Parvo. I was a little concerned that he was saying that she has Parvo because all the signs for distemper were showing. The vet even had the gall to tell me that if it's distemper "Bactrim should've taken cared of it". Naiinis lang ako. Kasi I believed him. I don't know anything about dogs except for those that I read on the internet and what other friends tell me. I consulted two other vets. The first vet was a friend of my teammate. I told her all of the symptoms that Bambam had and she felt na distemper na talaga. When Bambam had a seizure, she was the one I called. The vet was trying to calm me down pero deep inside, I had a feeling that she's calming me down para di mastress si Bambam. She was also telling me to find other animal clinics within the area to confine Bambam, kaso lang, the animal clinics that she was telling me, mga nakasara (ewan bakit nagsasara ng holiday). Imagine, she's from Quezon City, we have not met and yet she was the one looking for Animal Clinics in the area pa. Mabait talaga. The second vet, my husband found on the internet. I called her up. Her clinic was in Imus but I was willing to drive Bambam there just to confine her na. Pero when I told her the symptoms, she told me that Bambam had a very slim chance of surviving and not to take her to the clinic anymore. Sakit pala nun. As in naiyak na lang ako because it's as if she's telling me na wala na. When I called Vet1 about what Vet2 said, sabi ni Vet1, dahil baka makahawa na si Bambam ng ibang dogs kaya wag na lang. Vet1 prescribed me with Doxycycline. So I went to Mercury. Syempre, since over the phone lang at walang reseta, Mercury did not dispense the drug. I had to ask DA POGI to find a vet on his way home and get some Doxyvet if they have it. Good thing he found a clinic in Bacoor. He told the vet of the symptoms and syempre sabi din ng Vet, distemper. The vet gave him the doxyvet (na di nya nakikita ang dog, sabi nila illegal daw yun, pero sobrang thankful ako sa vet na yun for giving us kahit na onting hope). I texted the vet that diagnosed her with Parvo to tell him that Bambam was seizing and meron nang bula sa bibig niya. Ang sinabi niya sa akin sa text "Looks like she won't make it. Just keep her warm.". Yun lang. Tapos na ang text niya. As soon as he got home, we gave Bambam the Doxyvet na. Since she was having seizures early that day, we were just happy that her seizures stopped for a couple of hours. The Polynerv we gave her helped din. Kasi it calmed her down. Around 7PM last night, Bambam started convulsing. As in nakakatakot na kumbulsyon. Vet1 warned me about this during one of our phone conversations so I was calming both my husband and Bambam during that time. As in try ko magsalita in my most soothing voice. I don't know if it helped Bambam, pero she was looking at me when she was convulsing. Pababa baba kami ng husband ko to keep her company. Then nung nagkapaguran na, sabi ko matulog na kami, let Bambam rest and let our prayers do the rest. Kaninang 450, bumaba si Yaya Joy to cook breakfast. Di na daw humihinga si Bambam. My husband woke me up and he had tears in his eyes. Sabi ko, they need to bury Bambam agad kasi I don't want to see her na. I know na hahagulgol lang ako ng iyak. I called my mom and she was telling me that maybe Bambam was not meant to be ours. We did our best to keep her healthy, kaya lang she was sick na to begin with. Bambam is currently buried in our backyard. I cried on my way to work because I felt that I should've trusted my gut and insisted to the vet that he gets her tested for both Parvo and distemper. Later when I get home, it will be a little sad. Bambam is gone.

Da Pogi's Mamu gave us a puppy dog for a housewarming present. We named her Bambam. Bambam has been with us for a week. She has not been eating well. We took her to the vet 2x already and her weight has slowly declined. She was at 2 kilos last week, yesterday her weight was at 1.7 na lang. For a puppy her size, that 0.3k was a big deal. We can already see her ribs because she's really losing weight. She was diagnosed with Gastro Hemmorhagic Enteritis by the vet. She was given antibiotics and is still on antibiotics. However, she's not really improving. Granted, she has been walking around more than during her first 2 days with us, but it's really worrying me that she's not eating. We have tried bottle feeding her milk. We know she likes Alpo Beef and Liver for puppies. But she only licks the sauce and does not eat the chunks of meat. Her vet prescribed her with breeder's choice for puppies but she doesn't like them. I've even asked Yaya Joy to soak the pellets and mash them just so she will eat them. She needs to eat a minimum of 50grams a day but she's not eating. Bambam is my first pet. EVER. When I was young, we had a puppy, but when that puppy died (after a week), my parents did not replace him. I don't have any memories of that puppy. Bambam is slowly losing her strength. As in yesterday, naglalakad syang parang lasing, pasuray suray. And I'm at my wits end as to how to make her eat. HELP!

Guard: Ay ganun ho ba? Akala ko dalaga pa kayo e. O di ba? Love talaga nila ako.

Para kay Elapot, mini house tour.

Very very comfortable sofa.

Our Dining Set. The painting was a gift from Da Pogi's uncle. Andun yan sa Condo namin sa Makati dati.

My favorite room, our TV Room. The sofa is a sofa bed that we got for a very good price from my uncle.

More pictures to follow. :D

The thing with turning 28 is that you are no longer 27. Nothing else changes, just an added year to your age. It's another year added to your belt, another year that you will live and enjoy. I turned 28 today. Learned 2 new things in one day. I learned to play Sudoku and I learned that I can take a decent driver's license picture. If I can learn 2 things everyday, potentially, that means 730 new things until I turn 29. Imagine the possibilities.

Remember those days when you curse the person who took your driver's license picture? For the first time since 2001, I actually have a pretty decent driver's license picture. It's so good I actually show people without them asking. Hehe. :D

Things I love about our new house. - I don't need to wake up at 430AM anymore. - My husband and I get to eat breakfast at home. - Our TV Room/Guest Room! - Having measured nooks and crannies 5-6 times each, the wardrobe and cabinet we bought looks like it was custom made. - You don't need an electric fan or airconditioning at night. :) - Everything (almost everything), is still brand new and shiny. - I live 5 minutes away from SM Dasma. - Church is also 5 minutes away. - Security is pretty tight at the subdivision. Our contractors for our fencing have subdivision IDs. - Most unpacking is done. Our house looks liveable now. :D Things I wish could be better. - I hope that water would be more consistent. What with the recent power failures, the reservoir was emptied yesterday. - I hope that the cows and goats situation can finally be controlled. A week before we moved in, we found stinky remains of placenta (oh yes! you read it right!), in our side door. We knew it was goat placenta because we found 2 new baby goats roaming around the area. - We have to go out of the subdivision to throw trash. There is no trash truck going around to collect trash. - Our next door neighboor is actually 4 blocks away. - DA POGI has to wake up really early, and gets home pretty late. - Our gas consumption will be pretty steep this time. I take a car to work now and DA POGI insists on taking his own car.

My post-"Milenyo" post. We finally moved into the new house. What we initially thought to be 2 trips for the van, turned out to be 3 trips. But at least we are done. Our house looks like it has been rampaged by Milenyo, what with the opened and unopened boxes. Our wardrobe hasn't been assembled yet (darn you Our Home!), so we are now living on suitcases. One of the rooms had all of our books and dvds. And all of my shoes. It only has about 10 inches of floor space so you can look around for your stuff. :D We were so tired from all the moving, my back gave in Friday night what will all the lifting required. I had to lie down on the floor to straigthen it out. My husband had to drive back and forth from Makati to Cavite to move our stuff. Since we lived in a high rise in Makati, it took us about 2 hours to move the stuff from the condo unit to the parking lot. But surprisingly, it only took us 10 minutes to unload the van when we got to the house. Everything is all peachy even though there are times that there's no water in Cavite. Milenyo is to blame for the lack of water supply. SM Dasma and Waltermart and Robinson's had no drinking water on sale. We had to resort to asking my in-laws to bring drinking water today. I had to make do with about 3 gallons of water to take a shower this morning, that is a feat all by itself. We borrowed a big drum from DA POGI's grandpa so we can store water temporarily. I'm just happy that we're home.
