Yesterday, I wasted away my afternoon waiting to be interviewed at the US embassy. I couldn't bring my cellphone in. I couldn't bring my PDA in. I couldn't bring my laptop in. I was left to waste away time trying to come up with ways to entertain myself. I was scheduled 1PM but was interviewed at around 4:30PM. There were a LOT of people. Some new applicants, some renewing their visa application, some just wasting away time. I was able to witness at least 3 people who were denied visas. And, let me tell you, it's not pretty. It's not nice to see the consul pulling the blinds because one person refused to shut up and justify why she shouldn't be denied a visa. It's not nice to see a big man, ask for the consul's change of heart when we all know that will just alienate them. I'm just happy that I got approved. Even if it means falling in line tomorrow just to get my passport.
