| I would think that by now most people have read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. If you haven't read it and you are reading this entry STOP NOW! I have waited a month to write a commentary on the book, and since this is MY blog, I can do whatever I wish. If I spoiled your reading, BITE ME. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Since Harry and the gang are now 16, hormones are raging. Not exactly the type of hormonal raging that you read in Sweet Dreams book, but couples are being paired left and right. So there's Harry and then there's Ginny. I liked the fact that they ended up in each other's arms. Ginny has had a crush on Harry since HP and the Chamber of Secret. And them falling for each other is like a "YEY!" for unrequited love. And I was hoping that Ron and Hermione gets paired up in this book, but NOOO! If they don't get together by Book 7, I would seriously be angry. Naman! They've been unconciously flirting with each other since HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Next, Dumbledore dying. I think they did a great job with how Dumbledore died. Having Snape kill Dumbledore is like the ultimate betrayal. Now I really want to know what Snape told Dumbledore for the latter to trust him so much! And I would have to applaud Snape for being the best when it comes to Occlumency. Even one of the strongest wizards (Dumbledore) was not able to get through to him and see how evil he is. The Defense for the Dark Arts position is really cursed. Snape only stayed for a year also.
For the Dursley's, I don't really get it when Dumbledore said that they are being protected because Harry is in their home. Can someone explain that to me? I tried going back and forth about what that meant and what it means that the only person they are harming is Dudley. Is it because when they are mean to Harry, they are showing Dudley how to be a mean person? Or is it something more magical than that? Also, has anyone ever wondered why after the first chapter noone hears of the Dursley's anymore?
Didn't like the ending that much because it was too Spiderman-ish. I felt that Harry was trying to be Peter Parker when he told Ginny that they couldn't be together anymore. HOWEVER, I am looking forward to Book 7 when Harry goes to where it all started and beat Voldemort once and for all.
I find that there are a lot of loose ends in the whole series. Like, why is it that there was only minor mention of Neville Longbottom when in fact Neville could be the Chosen One and not Harry? When will Harry ever show that he is in fact an outstanding Wizard and not an ordinary wizard as Snape claims him to be? Will Dumbledore come back like a Phoenix that will rise from the ashes?
Looking forward to the next book. And it better be a good one. This is JK's last chance to tell the people the How's and Why's of the story.
