Preparing for someone's shower makes me anticipate my shower even more. Tomorrow's shower party will be wholesome. The naughtiest thing so far about it would be the cake. It's not even naughty, more funny. I bought a book for the bride, but I still have to pick it up tomorrow. I hope I'll be able to pick it up. With all the rains, the orders have been delayed.
A is bringing a Kamasutra VCD. I know that we won't be able to watch it.
I want my shower to be more rowdy, please?

I was out of office yesterday on account of the very bad weather. Our area was flooded and we didn't know how we'll get to the shuttle. Everyone in the family stayed at home. By afternoon, power was down in our area, and it only returned after 4 hours.
Not a good day yesterday.

From the email post:
The next time you're having a bad day, imagine this:
You're a Siamese twin.
Your brother attached to your shoulder is gay.
You're not.
He has a date coming over tonight.
You only have one ass.

Pizza day today at the office.
How will I be able to lose weight for the wedding if something always comes up? Last night, it was dinner at DA POGI's house. Mama even provided me with mango float to bring home. She knows how addicted I am to mangoes.
I hope they cooperate. I need to lose weight.

Gosh! Their asking me to answer math questions now? If the answer is not as elegant, they do not include it in the foils. E kung pakomplikahin ko kaya lahat ng sagot???
Ang sama ko talaga...

We still have yet to find a reception venue. DA POGI and I don't want to have it at a hotel for a couple of reasons, the first one being the budget. Anyways, looks like we need to look into it and just trim down the guestlist to a maximum of 200. If only I didn't have too many relatives then it would be easier. I broached the idea of an adults only wedding but I already had some objections to it.
It's too cold here in the office. I don't know what else I need to wear just to ward off the cold. This place is too cold. The rain is only making it colder. I wonder if I'll be able to survive winter in Alaska? Sheesh! I'm just too tropical. :)
Today is the first day of classes. I already submitted my request for alternate work schedules, so I can take these classes. I hope I survive this first 3 months.

Caught How to Lose a Guy in 10 days last Saturday. I liked the way Kate Hudson dressed in that movie. I wonder who her stylist was. Maybe I'll catch the name on the DVD.
--------------------
Went to the bridal fair at NBC tent yesterday. I'd have to admit, I am just a no frills girl. I want the wedding to be as simple as possible. The number of people exhibiting is just too much for me. I need to make my choices soon so that we can really plan out walk-ins/appointments, etc. My moving to Cavite has not been easy on my planning a wedding.
I've decided that I will take a leave of absence from school for a year.
If a wedding coordinator is not that expensive, I would've definitely hired one. Good thing DA POGI is as cool as a cucumber, else I might be confined in a mental asylum already.

Just ate a bar of Kitkat Chunky. I'll pay for this, I know it. But it just looked so appealing that I gave in. OH!
Anyways, most of the ideas for Eme's wedding are in place. Just need to finalize schedules for all the attendees and the details.
I'll post more, but I am just so tired from the travel to school yesterday. Sleep. I must sleep.

Hay! Finally moved in to the new office. The office is smaller but with the new smaller monitor it isn't so cramped.
At least, now I can really work without asking someone if I can use one area of their bullpen. Now the office is all mine. Bwahahaha! :) Plus, since I go to work early, I can also leave at exactly 4PM to catch the earliest shuttle back to Manila. I am now officially part of the 4:01 club.
And the coffee's not so bad. For 40 pesos I had caffe mocha better than starbucks. :)
I can really work here. :D

The Church has been reserved for the date we wanted. That's one down. Now we really have to find a reception venue that will fit our budget. DA POGI's mom has been so kind that she already told us not to worry about some of the stuff. She's really helping us out. My mom has been giving suggestions left and right. All I can say is that the mom's are the ones that are more excited.
I just wish that we could trim down the guestlist. It's now at 250 and it's really very hard to trim it down. I mean my invitees are only relatives and really close friends. I already have 140. My Lola should've thought about family planning! hehe...
Enrollment for school is on Thursday. Methinks, I'll only take one class this term. With all the things that's happening at the same time, I need to prioritize.

Woke up before 4 AM today. My eyes just automatically opened at 3:59 (according to my watch). By the time my mom knocked on our door, I was already out from the shower and tying my sneakers. Was on the shuttle by 4:45 which is a record for me. I usually arrive around 5AM and stay at the back of the first bus. Today, I was actually able to choose my seat.
I don't know if I'll be able to do this everyday. My mom wakes up with me to bring me to the shuttle every morning. Last night, we were actually asleep by 9PM which is early in my clock. Since I'll be getting married next year, I want to savor every moment that I can have with my mom. I'm even contemplating on DA POGI and me moving in with them for the first couple of months that we're married. Not because I'm a mama's girl (which I am) but more because it will help with saving for that first house.
Bespren, actually suggested that we could ask our guests to give money as gifts. That idea is too modern for me. But methinks if it could help us, then I might actually do it. I just hope that I won't chicken out when the time comes.

I have a love-hate relationship with JLo.
I admire her for being a multihyphenated person (singer-actress-producer-dancer-etc), but the same time I hate it that she's such a multihyphenated person. She's not that good a dancer, I hated the salsa dance she did in If you had my love, and she's not that a good singer. But one thing is for sure, she can really put on a show.
I liked her in Selena but when she sang If I could fall in love in her concert, I really hated her for ruining the song.
I'd say she's a jack of all trades but really a master of none. :)

Woke up at 4 AM this morning to catch the shuttle to Cavite. It's not that bad. I need to bring a neck pillow or something so that my bus ride would at least be comfortable. It's bearable. Or maybe, it's not really something I want to complain about. It's something a certain amount of caffeine can cure. :)
Hay! I can't imagine going through all the wedding preparations and going to school and working here in Cavite all at the same time. I told DA POGI that I would be needing all his help on getting things done. Last night, he brought me bridal magazines to look at. That's how excited he is. :)
I was talking to Eme (who's getting married June this year) and Tere (August next year) about the plans I have in my mind on how I want my wedding to be. They said that all my plans would change depending on how things progress. Eme started planning her wedding almost a year and a half ago and a lot has changed. From the venue of the reception that she wanted, to the motif. I still have yet to reserve a church. Here in Manila, church reservations, at least for the popular churches, should be made at least a year before. I know someone who went to Shrine of Jesus in the reclamation area to reserve a February 2004 wedding, February this year and they got a late March slot. I'm hoping that the church I want won't be the same case. We're planning on going tomorrow, just to check the availability.
Also, I hope they have a slot for the date that I want. I want it in late May. Just when the moon will start to rise. Don't ask me why but DA POGI's lola wanted it that way. Of course, I would give in. It's not really that big a deal anyways. :)
I have a feeling that from this day on, most things I write will be about the wedding. Just raise your hand if it sounds boring, k?

Last Tuesday, DA POGI and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary. This is the first anniversary that we celebrated as an engaged couple.
Yup, you read right. We're engaged.
--------------------
We went to Subic last Friday for, what I thought was, the usual summer vacation with friends. We were with his friends this year.
Anyways, we got in the hotel at around 4PM in the afternoon. We decided to rest for a while, since Rye's gf is still at the office. They decided that we should meet up at around 6PM for dinner at Blue Mountain. Jester and I got into an argument about me taking a shower before dinner. He's telling me that I should and I am telling him that I should not since I was tired from the trip. DA POGI was in the background just listening in to the argument. In the end, I didn't take a shower.
When we got to Blue Mountain, we were ushered into a funciton room. I was wearing really "comfy"clothes (a tank top, drawstring pants and sneakers) while most of them were wearing polos and slacks. I thought nothing of it, since that's how they normally look like when I see them anyways. I never thought anything about the function room either. There were seven of us and since the place was a small place, I thought that was how they seated 7 people.
So, we had paella, which was absolutely delicious, and beef tenderloin tips. Dinner was the usual conversation among friends, the usual alaskahan. When dinner was done, they decided that we should have some dessert. The guys went out for a smoke, Stef and Rye went to the frontdesk to ask something. DA POGI and I were the only ones left in the room. I commented that I felt so underdressed, but he hugged me and reassured me that I looked fine.
Angel of Mine was played in the background, and I sang to him.
Then, the waiter went in with roses and a cake. I thought it was an anniversary thing celebrated earlier. But when I saw the cake, I just cried. :) The cake was decorated with a bear holding a heart. In the heart were these words:
Jen, Will you marry me? J
I just hugged him and cried. He got the ring from his pocket, and with tears in his eyes, asked me if I was willing to marry him. I said yes.
We called everyone in to join us for dessert. I was so happy that I couldn't control the tears. During dessert, he called up my mom to tell her that I said yes and that we're getting married next year.
-----------------------
I called all my college friends and told them of the news. I called in my high school friends for a meeting to tell them of the news.
And that is why I was so busy to blog these past couple of days. :)

Got back from Subic yesterday just in time for Mother's day lunch at DA POGI's uncle's house. On our side, we had Mother's day dinner.
Don't know how to really post anything right now. I'll probably be in a more kwento mood later this day.
Have a good week everyone! :)

My office stuff is now all packed. My office looked like a cleaning lady went through with a vacuum cleaner and sucked all of my things. Even my laptop now sits by it's lonesome self on the table.
I'm so excited about the Subic trip tomorrow. Honestly, I'm not prepared for it. I haven't packed. I haven't even created a list of things that I might need to bring. All I know is that I definitely need to bring my camera.
So, see ya all next week. Tomorrow I'll be basking in the sun near a pool in Subic. :)

I need to pack my office things.
I'm on leave on Friday, for my Subic trip, and everything should be packed by tomorrow. Therefore, I might be staying extra late tomorrow just to pack everything. Most of my books are already in the box. It's those confidential stuff that I keep in my drawer that remains to be packed.
Was late for the office today. No water at home. Had to ask someone to fetch some water from the poso two blocks away.

We lost.
But all's not that bad. S won the women's championship and were now currently at 2nd place in team standings. We are guaranteed of that place. Too bad we didn't win the mixed doubles championship, that would've given us a chance at the team championships.
Anyways, the game was good. We were down 13-1 on the first set. But we won that set. Of course, R took us seriously on the remaining sets and we lost those. Plus, I wasn't hit by the shuttlecock for the first two sets. I was hit on the third set on the throat but it was unintentional. ;)
I didn't cry.

Played some badminton last night with a group from HR. I was actually terrified to play with them because there were rumors going around the company that the HR players were the best players. Of course, we haven't really seen them play. And we really didn't know what the name of the best players are. We just assumed.
Anyways, to make a long story short, our fears were unfounded. The ones that wanted to play with us were newbies just as we are. We had some advantage over them since we've been playing for a couple of months now. Our rackets were battered up, well at least mine is, unlike their brand new ones.
So to make the story shorter, we played for fun. R was teaching them the basic rules and how to serve. Eme and I played one set with them. It was a good game since we were just enjoying the moment of playing and teaching them.
Badminton finals later. The do or die game scheduled for Thursday was rescheduled today. I only have one wish.
I hope I won't cry.

I've actually read photography books and is now in the process of learning digital photography for dummies. Nothing beats the simplest explanation on things.
---------------
Watched Sharon last night. Dato Macapagal (the president's son) and Kakai Manotoc were being interviewed. They're getting married on May 16th and Sharon is one of the Ninangs.
Anyways, I just found Dato's proposal so sweet. They were on board the presidential yacht (don't ask me how I feel about that...) and 6 roses were delivered one by one to Kakai. Then, Dato came and asked her if she knew what the 6 roses were for. And she said that it was for the 6 years that they are together (they've been dating for 6+ years). So Dato gave her a 7th rose and told her that that rose was for forever. That was so sweet and so kilig. Even if they used the presidential yacht for that.
Ok, so I admit, I cried over that.

Ask me what's the stupidest thing I did today.
I left my laptop at home. Had to take a cab back to our house to get it and a cab back to the office. It took an hour overall of my time, and my wallet was a lot lighter from all the cab rides.
Next time, I wouldn't laugh at people who leave their laptops accidentally. Bad karma is slowly rising up.

Posted the new pics on pbase.
I'm excited over the Subic trip. DA POGI said that there were lots of flora and fauna there, I would surely knock myself crazy taking pictures. Problem is my compactflash is not that big. I might be needing to transfer the pics to the computer often. I only have a 16Mb(which came with the camera) and a 32MB(which was given to me by D).
I shopped around for CFs here in Manila and a 256MB costs around 5K-7K (It's 7K in greenhills!). So that's roughly $100. According to Amazon, there are Sandisk CFs going at $60. The price difference, IMHO, is too much. I've asked Pauee to bring me one when he get's home but that's still in June. Too late for the Subic trip.
Anyways, I'll get by. I can still get up to a 100 pics on the 32M at 1024x768. It's just limiting the powers of my camera. Naks!

Sick again.
I was out this morning due to a fever caused by colds. No, I don't have SARS. Or at least I don't think so. Except for the fever and the colds I am not showing any signs of having the disease. It's just a weather thing. I was at home the whole day yesterday and the heat just got to me. I had to take a shower every 2 hours just so I would be refreshed. Don't know how I really got the colds though.
I'm sleepy.
