I enjoyed reading About a Boy so much that I bought another Nick Hornby book.
Comparing between the movie and the book, I guess I'd have to say I like the book better. The book is not as exciting as the movie. It can be a bit bland. But the characters were well developed and I really understood what Marcus and Ellie's relationship were. It was a bit vague in the movie, they were just pictured as buddies without really establishing how important Ellie is in Marcus' development as a teenager. Also, in the book, it was established why Marcus was so afraid of his mother commiting suicide again. Though I understand why they didn't put it in the movie, Kurt Cobain's death is old news if the movie supposedly took place in 2002.
Ay Naku! I'm a Nick Hornby fan na ata without even knowing it. I hope I like Being Good. :)
