I'm gonna go home early today, and you know why? I bought myself a toy yesterday and it wants me to play with it. Don't care about the assignment due tomorrow. This afternoon would just be for my new baby.
Yep! I bought myself a DVD player. It's not really the ultra cool kind that can do anything except take you to work. Just the regular kind but it is really special. This is my first major purchase. The only thing that I have under my name is my advantix camera. I've yet to hook it up to my dad's component for maximum viewing pleasure but it is connected to the big TV. I mean the biggest one in the house. Since a long weekend is coming, I still have time to stock up on movies and ample time to connect it to the speakers.
Another good thing about my toy is that it can play all regions. No need to have it reconfigured. Any DVD will play. Even the ones which cost a 100 pesos.
So for the next 6 months, this is where a major part of my salary goes. Thank goodness for 0% interest plans. :)

Yipee! 2 projects closed for this week. :)
Didn't work late for the projects. Just clocked in the regular 7-4 with some surfing on the side. Just need to close a few more issues and I can say that my quarter is certainly off to a great start.
Exchanged quite a few emails with my classmate since elementary. We went to the same high school and the same University. Having fun getting in touch with the past. :)

As if the bombings is not enough to scare the hell out of me in bus rides. Life gave me another reason to hate riding in the bus.
I was on my way to work this morning, had a little headache from lack of sleep. I was up till 12 MN working on my Math assignment. Anyways, I rode the bus and sat next to a lady who was probably on her way to work too. I paid my fare, fixed the contents of my bag when I didn't notice that the woman seated next to me has already gotten off. A man sat next to me. He asked me what time it is with matching wide smile on his face. I told him and tinkered with my bag again. It was usually my habit to look around and see if I knew any of the people around me. Lo and behold, it was then that I noticed that the man next to me had his very erect penis out of his pants. I don't know what he was trying to accomplish. He was still smiling. All I can do was move to another seat.
I called the konduktor and told him, "Ma, yung lalaki sa ikatlong upuan nagpapakita ng ano." Witty me!
With the shock of it all, I wasn't even able to say, "Mama, yan na yun?!?"
I had goose bumps when I told my officemate what happened to me.
Shitty, since this was the first time since the bombings that I rode the bus. I've been taking a taxi since Monday.

I enjoyed reading About a Boy so much that I bought another Nick Hornby book.
Comparing between the movie and the book, I guess I'd have to say I like the book better. The book is not as exciting as the movie. It can be a bit bland. But the characters were well developed and I really understood what Marcus and Ellie's relationship were. It was a bit vague in the movie, they were just pictured as buddies without really establishing how important Ellie is in Marcus' development as a teenager. Also, in the book, it was established why Marcus was so afraid of his mother commiting suicide again. Though I understand why they didn't put it in the movie, Kurt Cobain's death is old news if the movie supposedly took place in 2002.
Ay Naku! I'm a Nick Hornby fan na ata without even knowing it. I hope I like Being Good. :)

I saw Johnny B's brother today. Feeling close sya ha!
I saw him early today. He dropped off the phone that Johnny B borrowed from me. I have to remind you that this is only the second time that I saw him and our first meeting was nothing more than raising the eyebrows to acknowledge each other's presence.
He texted me to tell me that he was already downstairs and he couldn't park the car anywhere. Would I be kind enough to go down and just meet him at the lobby? I said sure. Not that big a deal.
So I went down, I saw him immediately. Who could mistake a guy who is about 6 feet tall driving a small corolla which is almost colored pink? It was definitely him. Anyways, he smiled and said, "eto na o. Salamat daw."
Sabi ko naman, "sige. Umalis na ba si Johnny?" Of course I was making small talk!
"Oo, kanina lang."
"Galing ka ng work o galing sa paghatid sa kanya"
"Work"
"O sige. Salamat na lang a!"
End of conversation.
So I went back up and sat on my desk to do some work thingies. My phone beeps. It's Johnny B's brother. Below is a transcript of our exchanges:
JB: "O bakit nakafrown ka? Ang aga aga. Smile ka lang palagi. Sayang ang ganda mo kung sisimangot ka. "
me: "ha? is that message for me? Ako ba ang sinasabihan mo na ngumiti?"
JB: "E sino pa ba ang nakita ko today. Ikaw lang naman ang nakita kong maganda."
me: (confused) "ganun? Kulang lang sa coffee."
JB: "O sige. Kain muna ako para makatulog. Good Night!"
me: "Good Night!"
What the heck was that all about? Weird...

I don't know what happened but time just flew by. I was shocked to see the clock at 4PM. It was just a while ago that it was 7AM! Sheesh! Where did the time go? :D
Can't blog for long. Promised to take Eme and Agnes out to the mall. That's the second time this week. I took them to Tony Roma's for a belated birthday dinner. Wish Tere was there. Missed her terribly. Tere, if you're reading this, we miss you! :)

No amount of caffeine could pick me up.
I already had a fair amount of coffee, but still feel a little sluggish. I know that water is supposed to be the best pick me up. I think I drank gallons already, and still feel a little tired and sleepy. The exam is later. I'm nervous because the material seems so easy, it just doesn't feel right. O well! This sleepiness is not helping any!
K called me up early to rave about her new infatuation. I'm happy for her. She's been through some tough times and she deserves a little schoolgirl crush to make her giddy. I just don't want her to dwell on the past anymore. I want her to move on and just be happy with the "freedom" that she now has.
Naubusan ako ng English. Tumawag yung taga Singapore. Sus! malapit na ako magka Singaporean accent.

Math exam is done! Three Hurrays for me! I survived, I survived!
I was fretting the whole day yesterday, very nervous about the exam. The teacher was so kind, giving 7 problems and we can choose the 5 that we want to answer. Of course, being the sometimes boploks that I am, I have this one problem that I did with a little stupidity. Well maybe not so little. But I won't dwell on that. The exam is done and over with! :D
Now, I gotta get working for my exam tomorrow. I have a planned sickness this afternoon. I need to skip my class to study. Heh! I hope my teacher doesn't read this. :D

I was out last Friday. Didn't go to work. I spent the weekend celebrating my 24th with a bang.
Friday was pakikay day. Spent the earlier part of the day catching up on sleep. Went to run some errands then the whole afternoon was spent in the parlor (haircut and hair treatment) and scouting for that perfect gift. Found THE gift the later part of the afternoon. Generated a few oohs and ahs from Agnes and Emelyn on the gift that I chose. Five points for me for having style. :D
Saturday, I was in study mode. Spent the whole day working on math problems. Up to this moment, I still haven't reached 3/4's of the material. Six hours of studying was enought to fry my brains for the whole weekend. Had to take a break at 6 so went out with DA POGI to do some grocery shopping for Mommy. What can I say, DA POGI has a really great sense of humor that I managed to relax my brain for a while. :D
Sunday is THE day. Had mass with the birthday boy. Exchanged gifts. He liked my gift. He gave me a book (About a Boy) and a watch. Gaya gaya ng gift. Pero the day was lovely. A little hectic but altogether fun.
So to end, It was a Happy Birthday for both of us. :)

This is one of those days when I wish I could do online shopping.
I have just tomorrow to find a birthday gift for DA POGI. Saturday will be jam packed because my two profs conspired to have their exams on the same week. Sunday would be his birthday.
Because of school I have no time to go to the mall. I was out sick last weekend. Only felt a little better Sunday, but then I had to go to Ruskin's christening.
>> more later...

Became a Ninang for the nth time. This time to B's son Ruskin.
B is still B. She's still as thin as a post. When she was pregnant she looked like B with a pillow on her tummy. When I saw her yesterday, she looked like B, without the pillow. Anyways, you get my point.
Still have another inaanak lined up for this year. C's daughter Belle will be christened in December.
All in all, within my circle of high school friends, we already have 5 babies spread among 4 mommies. All of them cute and cuddly. Ruskin, Belle and TA's daughter, Isabelle, were all born August, a few days apart from each other.
I wonder who's up next? :)

My cold has gone full blown. Our admin asked me to go home and rest and I said no because I have an important meeting lined up this afternoon.
Anyhoo...
DA POGI is out of town. Went to Subic for some R&R with the boys. He seems prettty excited when I talked to him last night. Its a yearly thing for them. They go somewhere North for a weekend, doing guy stuff. Just the boys.
Good for me. I have 2 exams lined up next next week. This will give me a headstart to study, at the same time rest to get this dang cold out of my system.

Dang it! I have the colds again!
I must be vitamin deficient in all areas. I keep on getting these things. One day its a cough, another its a cold. It's fine, just as long as they don't bring along a fever with them. Last time I had cough and colds I was out 4 days.
Maybe its just fatigue. I have been after all been pulling long days. I made a pledge of punctuality. I haven't been late to work for almost two weeks. In fact, I am at work much earlier than my team mates. I beat BB more than half of the time. He's usually at work by 6:30AM, so go figure at what ungodly hour I get to work. My classes has grown full blown. So three times a week, I'm home at 10pm. Weekends, I sleep at 11pm trying to figure out how to answer the math assignment for the week.
Good thing work is cooperating. I haven't had much stress because of work. Last week was pretty quiet, save for the project dropping day. Hay!
Eme says I'm not eating right. This lunchtime, she went through all the vitamins and minerals that she's getting from eating the right food. She gave out all the good things about fish, then about ampalaya. Then about the banana.
I have to go to class tonight. I don't want to though. They're gonna be feeding us with information that I have no use for. I'm still feeling a little guilty for the reaction paper that I wrote about the brainwash session last week.
